About the data

Everything on this site was read from the files of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, build 24769601, the release version on Steam. Nothing was typed in from screenshots or guessed from play.
What was read

The game ships its data as RE Engine user-data and scene files. Those hold the item table, the enemy catalogue and every enemy's parameter pack, the mission table with objectives and rewards, the skill tree graph, the charms, the enhancement stages, the costume table, the message tables in all twelve languages, and the level layout: point graphs for every placed enemy, item, chest, gimmick, NPC, Spirit Mirror, oni gate and random encounter point, plus the in-game map's own icon table.

The maps are the game's own map tiles, stitched and cut into a tile pyramid. Marker positions are the world coordinates from the layout files put through the same transform the in-game map uses, checked against the Spirit Mirrors, whose positions the game stores twice.

Renders of enemies, characters, costumes and objects were made from the game's models and materials. Where a DLC's art is not in the base files, the page says so.

What is not here

Audio is not part of this site. The story dialogue and enemy voice packages are encrypted in the files and were not decoded; the cutscene movies likewise. Achievement names and descriptions live on the platform stores rather than in the game, so only their counters are listed.

Text that the localisation never finished shows up in the files as a placeholder; such lines are left out rather than shown.
