MusashiGet the fuck off me, ugh!
Kubi AkariFound you!
MusashiKilled him before I could say thanks.
MusashiIdiots...
WomanWhat did I do? Please, spare me...
Musashi(breathing effort)
Hitotsume GasaWe're under attack! To arms! To arms!
WomanHelp...me...
ManI'm not...dying here...!
PriestI never thought I'd make it back here alive... The Buddha watches over me.
Hitotsume GasaThat giant Genma eats everything...
PriestOpen up, please! Quickly!
MusashiJust the bastards I'm looking for.
DaidaraI'm starving! Where's my food hiding!?
MusashiI really wish he'd calm down...
DaidaraLet. Me. Eat!
Musashi(A scream is heard as he goes to open the door)
WomanOh, thank you! Thank you!
MusashiWhat is it NOW?
MusashiHey, you all right?
Musashi(Surprised by the spinning blade)
Musashi(Reaction)
MusashiDammit!
ExperimentWhat's happened to me?
ShizukaMusashi, I sense Genma.
MusashiHey! Hold it!
Hitotsume GasaAn intruder! Kill him! Kill! Him!
ManHands off, hellspawn! Dammit! Let me go!
MusashiWhat happened here...?
MusashiFrom there?
MusashiWhat now...?
ShizukaNue...!
ShizukaI suppose that completes the set...
MusashiThis place...looks familiar. Back at Kiyomizu-dera Temple...
Man in Monk GarbLotsa blood in these folk. Should be able to make lotsa booze with it! Master Shuten Doji will be thrilled!
VillagerBreathing with the desire to escape, though bound and unable to move. For about 30 seconds.
TakamuraQuite the tale.
MusashiWhy would you agree to that...?
MusashiI see where this is going.
MusashiThis isn't the well I rode in on...
TakamuraKiyomizu-dera Temple's been attacked?
OkuniYou don't look like you can fill Takamura's shoes to me...
TakamuraThe growing Malice is twisting this city. Musashi, I leave the purification of Kiyomizu-dera Temple in your hands.
OkuniKiyomizu Temple is one of the key sanctuaries holding the Oni Gate together. Thanks to the Genma it's all covered in Malice and a
GatekeeperThank you, Samurai.
MonkThat stage is going to haunt my nightmares... I can't stop thinking about it...
Calm WomanHello sir. I can tell you're bound to a fate you'd sooner be rid of.
Cheerful Old-TimerOh dear, that frown won't do—is something troubling you, boy?
Musashi"Yorimasa"...ring any bells?
Second Stout PillarGreetings, Oni warrior.
MusashiSomething about these dolls feels...ominous. Maybe I'm overthinking it.
First Stout PillarMy brothers! Long were the days we spent apart. You have my thanks, Miyamoto Musashi.
Calm WomanSo that monster was playing us all for fools. Being bewitched is no excuse, what a stupid thing I've done to myself.
Calm WomanI cast away my vision, so that I'd never be tempted to compare my looks to others' again.
Cheerful Old-TimerOnly a genius would think of throwing away a leg to cure knee pain! Hm, my back aches too, of late...but I know just the cure!
Second Stout PillarPlease, bring our stolen brothers back to us. In return, the might of the Eight Stout Pillars shall be yours to wield!
First Stout PillarOnce the purification is complete, our power will be as yours. Rid us of the Genma that defiled this shrine. You're our only hope.
Calm WomanI lost my eyes to my own weakness and stupidity. I'll devote myself to this shrine, so that I'll never be bewitched again!
TakamuraYou did well to purify Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Musashi. I have no qualms with your performance.
TakamuraIt's good to see you again, Shizuka. But...for an Oni of your standing to be reduced to a soul in a gauntlet—
MusashiAre you...wishing for something?
MusashiYour hands...how did you get an injury like that?
Praying WomanAll I want is to spend forever with you. But...with this illness...forever won't be long.
MusashiThe hell is that...?
MusashiEveryone's come out of hiding.
TakamuraSo, Kennin-ji Temple stands purified. Consider me impressed, boy.
MusashiThis must be Yasaka Shrine. Now, where's Takamura's friend...?
???Hmm. You're Miyamoto Musashi? I was imagining someone more rugged.
MusashiOkuni. I heard you can get me into Nijo-jo Castle. I need to be in there. Right now.
ShizukaThese appear to be drag marks...
MusashiThis must have just happened.
MusashiWhy is there just one tree on fire?
MusashiThese scratch marks... Something's off about them.
MusashiMore claw marks.
ButterflyMusashi, can you hear me?
Lady MurasakiHmm...it's an even sadder story than I expected. I feel just terrible for the victims.
MusashiShit, the bridge is out.
MusashiIs that the culprit?
TakamuraLady Murasaki gave you a rough time, huh?
WomanA monster came from over the bridge...
WomanOh, Master Samurai, please, help me! There's a murderer!
TakamuraYou're in luck, Musashi. I've got some Genma for you to fight right away.
TakamuraYou're doing good work, Musashi. But Yoshitsune's Genma are in a word, relentless.
OkuniUm...sorry about before. Even as a joke, "he might eat your soul" was too far.
OkuniThere, can you tell?
ShizukaOkuni's performance is beginning. Let us watch.
OkuniMusashi, Shizuka... Thanks. I think I'll be able to keep my promise with Hinagiku, now.
OkuniAre you two all right!?
OkuniThey told me what's going on. They said an Oni is attacking villages on Mount Oe and kidnapping people.
GatekeeperHey! Hey! Who's out there! What do you want!?
ManI have to get off this mountain! Now! They'll make wine of me if I stay here!
ManYou saved my life... Wait, you're not from my village. What's a samurai doing here?
WomanThey took everyone... That monk, he tricked us!
ManI owe you my life! I would have been made into wine if not for you!
ManKill those monstrous bastards, Samurai! I can't take this any longer!
ManI'd given up hope that help would come... You saved my life. Thank you!
Shuten DojiThe fallen Oni's power!? How!?
MusashiTo me, the way of the sword is simple: It's a game of strength. If you win, you're the strongest.
MusashiHey, show yourselves! If you wanna fight, stop hiding!
BuraiAll that and we still lost... I've got no regrets, though.
MusashiI dealt with the Genma. Nothing to be scared of out here now.
TakamuraArashiyama has fallen.
ShizukaThese are glyphs that can be read only by my kind.
SamuraiHello! Is anyone out there!
SamuraiThank you.
DokyoOh hello! You got here sooner than I expected. The festivities haven't started yet.
TakamuraYou purified Arashiyama. We can all sleep a little easier thanks to you, Musashi.
MusashiWhere's Ganryu's gauntlet?
ShizukaWe were too late...
MusashiShizuka, how's Rokudo-chinnoji?
MusashiI already know how to use these things. That's how we got to Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
ShizukaThe Genma souls have further awakened the gauntlet, and your strength is increased. How does it feel?
MusashiTakamura... Is it all right for you to leave the temple like this?
TakamuraIf you want to learn more about fighting, you know the place.
MusashiWhat is this?
MusashiSo, where to next?
TakamuraThere's far less Malice hanging around than before. You've done well, Musashi.
Oni WomanThis is catastrophic. I fear power has corrupted that man completely—he treads the heretic's path.
MusashiHer again.
Oni WomanShizuka, my dear friend. You are the last remaining hope of the Oni race.
OkuniUm, that Hozuki Pouch I gave you? You can probably tell, but it's old. And kinda worn out.
MusashiI found what we're looking for.
MusashiWow, you're really good at that, huh?
BoyMr Samurai? I was looking for you.
Yoshioka FollowerWe've been waiting for you, Miyamoto Musashi.
DokyoHey, hey! What are you all losing for!?
Yoshioka FollowerKill...kill...Musashi...!
Lady MurasakiThe Hanging Monkeys.
MusashiCareful, kid. Hang around in a place like this and you might get eaten by monsters.
Musashi...What do you want?
ManI'll have my revenge... Oh I'll have it...!
ManMy brother was murdered. He came here to study—said he wanted to be a priest.
Lady MurasakiYour results speak for themselves, Musashi. I'll be counting on you for further investigations and Lion Dog rescues.
Lady MurasakiGoddess Kannon of the Stone Lantern.
Gravely Ill ManWho're you!? Walking in here like you own the place! And where did my damn wife go!?
WomanOh yes, I know the lady you're talking about. Her husband's illness is giving her a terrible time.
ManYes, I know her, she's our neighbor. Her husband bullies her something awful, the poor thing.
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)Oh, how very curious.
MusashiHey, are you all right?
MusashiMurasaki...what did you mean back there? What is it that his wife has been praying to?
Lady MurasakiA god that purges bad karma and brings good karma.
BoyAh, you found my daddy for me at Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
ManOtowa Waterfall's water is a blessing! It's driven the monsters away, and made our lives safer.
WomanOtowa Waterfall? It's up ahead. Maybe its water is sacred enough to get the stains out of those filthy clothes.
WomanOh, what a dashing samurai! Are you here to drink the waterfall's blessing?
ShizukaWell.
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)Well...the Hall has been unsealed, but...
MusashiIs that...Dokyo!?
ShizukaThe sacred water has indeed returned to normal.
ManThat water you gave me fixed me right up. I'm losing track of how indebted I am to you, Samurai.
Lady MurasakiMusashi's valiant efforts protected Otowa's Sacred Water.
Calm WomanHello again. It's been a while. There's...something I can only discuss with you and you alone. Will you listen?
ShizukaPerhaps the Faceless was just one of these?
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)The truth behind the Faceless was a Genma with a squashed face.
MusashiThere were no Faceless in there, just some dangerous monsters. I took care of them, so you can rest easy now.
Lady MurasakiI wonder. That man, until then unnoticed...
Strange ManOho, perfect timing. Samurai, what do you say to a duel?
MusashiAre you two all right? What happened?
MusashiThere you are, you dumb bastard.
Strange ManThis is where I prayed and received my blessing. There's not a soul that could kill me!
Strange ManUgh...! Gaaaaah!
Lady MurasakiNothing mystical. Some manner of Genma was feeding on his heart from the inside.
Troupe MemberOh, Musashi! Thanks to you, our troupe is back up and running! All that's left is to wait for Okuni to come back.
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)Musashi, what do you have there?
Troupe MemberAh! That's the charm! Now our regular can go home in peace!
Lady MurasakiIndeed, one little charm may prove ineffective against the Night Parade.
Three Worms DevoteeOh my! Are you having a worm-ly day?
DokyoOh no, you mustn't sleep! It won't be a very worm-ly day if your Three Worms tattle on you!
ShizukaIf Dokyo is involved, then...
DokyoIsn't it just a worm-ly day to be transformed into a Genma by your beloved Three Worms!?
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)That Dokyo creature. She's been appropriating the Three Worms mythos to convert people into Genma.
Three Worms PriestOh, my! A very worm-ly day to you! If you're here for the congregation, it's at night...
Three Worms DevoteeThey told me I'd get my own Three Worms... but they put monsters inside me instead...
Lady MurasakiOn special nights...
ManYou there, sir. Oh, dear me...
ManAh, nothing like a spot of tidying, is there? Your heart and soul are positively gleaming!
WomanMister Samurai! I finally saw them, pale lights aglow in the night sky...
WomanSo they were just monsters, after all...
ManMister Samurai! I just saw something crazy!
ManSo you got rid of those monsters! Did you happen to figure out what they were praying to?
WomanBah... Honestly! ...Hey mister, can you help me with something?
WomanYou got rid of the monsters! I knew I could count on you!
ManYou know, there's a place in this city that's rather famous among lovers...
ManSo what I saw was the work of monsters! How terrible...
WomanAah, I can't believe this is happening!
WomanI see... So they really were monsters after all. Well, at least my fish are safe.
ManHelp! Some monsters broke into my workshop! I can't afford to lose my livelihood!
ManWait, you're kidding me! You made it back alive!? And you got rid of all the monsters!?
ManThere you are! You're the warrior who got rid of that giant monster at Gojo-ohashi Bridge, right!?
ManYou did it! I knew I could trust in you! Finally the dead can rest in peace!
ManI... I saw what you did...
ManGoodness! You really managed to deal with all those flying monsters?
ManWell, well. I thought if I waited here long enough, I'd eventually run into the one and only Miyamoto Musashi.
ManI heard the good news! You took care of the monsters at the castle!
ManYou look to be a warrior of great prowess. Would you indulge me and lend an ear to my sorry tale?
ManThank you for driving out those insolent intruders!
ManI would like to pray for the souls of those innocent lives lost at Mount Oe.
ManAh, you made it back unharmed!
WomanMister Samurai, if I may...
WomanYou did it! You slew the monsters at Arashiyama!
ShizukaConfined to the lowest depths of hell, unbeknownst to us, he spent centuries bending the Genma to his will. With them, he invaded

ShizukaI wonder who this old acquaintance of Takamura might be? Hmm...
ShizukaThe Genma are simple creatures; they kill humans, and eat them. To hear that they are taking captives is unusual...and unsettling.
ShizukaMany many years ago, when investigating the Genma, I traveled all over the land disguised as a dancer.
ShizukaLittle is known of Dokyo's origins, but suffice to say that she is a sworn enemy of the Oni. No sooner did she appear than she beg

ShizukaThe Yoshitsune we witnessed at Gojo-ohashi Bridge was not a physical entity, but merely a spirit like myself.
ShizukaI sense a strange power emanating from Yasaka Pagoda. It's neither Genma nor human, nor is it one of the Oni...
ShizukaIn speaking to Okuni, I have found that she is far stronger than she may appear. From what she has told me, her and Hinagiku were

ShizukaThough you've purified the sanctuary, the Genma continue to thrive unabated.
ShizukaThe key sanctuary of Arashiyama is protected by nature and should be impervious to the influence of the Genma...
ShizukaIt is important to know one's limits, Musashi. The Oni Gauntlet can repair your body, but not your soul.
ShizukaSince I awoke in the gauntlet, I have shared every step of your path.
ShizukaTakamura has a...vigorous approach to training. However, I am certain that if you can bear his tutelage, it will prove useful in c
ShizukaShall we set off?
TakamuraThe seal on the gate here isn't going to hold long with all that Malice swamping Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
TakamuraThe Malice around here grows ever thicker...
TakamuraSo, it appears that our enemy is none other than the man of legend, Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
TakamuraWith hell being home to the fallen wicked, it was the duty of the Oni to keep the place in order.
TakamuraAs the guardian of the Oni Gate I am able to freely enter hell. On visits, I would sometimes encounter figures of renown who end u

TakamuraSo the girl Okuni is looking for was a victim of the recent abductions? Hmm... The more I hear about this affair, the less hopeful

TakamuraGojo-ohashi Bridge, huh? Fittingly enough, that's where Benkei first met the young Yoshitsune many years ago.

TakamuraThe Spirit Mirror won't wear out no matter how much you use it, but try not to forget that you have legs as well.
TakamuraI can't leave Rokudo-chinnoji Temple, so I've got no choice but to leave all the fun out there to you.
OkuniSo...there's a lady in that gauntlet—Shizuka, right? And she's one of the Oni from hell.
OkuniIt wasn't just Genma making trouble at Kiyomizu-dera, huh? Heard you ran into the guy who gave you that Oni Gauntlet, and there wa
OkuniShizuka's really amazing, isn't she?
OkuniYou've got some charms on you, right? If you want to enhance them, you can to do it at Enma's Hall.
OkuniYou haven't seen a key around here, have you? I swear I was looking after it properly, but I got distracted for one moment, and no
OkuniThat Oni Cloth doesn't look easy to work with.
OkuniKyoto's getting rougher and rougher. If Takamura could leave the temple, I bet he'd be able to set everything straight.
OkuniWith Takamura protecting it, Rokudo-chinnoji Temple is probably the safest place in Kyoto.
OkuniIf you see anyone in trouble, help them out, OK? Most people don't have much hope if Genma are involved.
Lady MurasakiMusashi, you've done very well helping my Lion Dogs. Aren't they just so cute? So fuzzy, so—
ManIf it weren't for you, I'd be dead. Here, please take this as thanks.
WomanI'd all but given up hope... Please, take this as thanks.
MerchantWhat an embarrassing predicament to be found in. I'll give you this, but please...don't tell anyone what you saw.
MusashiHey
OkuniNeed help with something?
YorimasaHave you need of my aid?
MusashiThis is wrong...! I didn't ask for this power...!
MusashiAlright. Let's purify this place and see if that won't wake up Gauntlet Lady.
ShizukaThe Malice is thick. It would be unwise to approach.
MusashiThoughts?
MusashiGauntlet Lady's got me running all over the damn place. Shutting these Rifts better wake her up.
ShizukaYour work to purify Yasui Konpiragu Shrine was most valiant. And yet...so much Malice still remains in Kyoto.
MusashiI didn't know about her missing friend.
MusashiGojo-ohashi Bridge... Any idea where it is?
MusashiI killed the plant. Why hasn't the corruption cleared?
ShizukaI sense another Rift yet remains.
MusashiSounds like we were right.
MusashiNot used to Okuni asking for a favor like this.
MusashiMount Oe. Can the Spirit Mirror take us there?
MusashiWhat's with this gale!?
ShizukaMusashi, if we use the Spirit Mirror and exit Yasaka Shrine, we may let Genma in. Let us journey by foot and fight from the outsid
MusashiI've never seen Malice this thick. What's happening here?
MusashiYou want my sword too? Just try and take it.
ShizukaHe's at the top.
MusashiI was hoping you'd say we'd have time for a break...
ShizukaA hidden source of my people's power should be nearby. Try searching the area.
ShizukaI sense some of my people's power hidden nearby. Why not try searching the area?
ShizukaI sense the power of the Oni, hidden nearby. Musashi, will you seek it out?
ShizukaThis is the temple Okuni told you about. We should begin our search.
ShizukaWhat will you do?
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)I was right, of course. An intense anger—hatred, even—is hanging in the air here.
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)That man said his wife comes to Kiyomizu-dera Temple daily. The people here must know of her.
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)Commendable work. Did that release Yashajin's Hall?
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)I don't think any of these are the apparition we're looking for.
MusashiWhere did that idiot run off to?
Lady Murasaki (Butterfly)A horde of Genma. The truth behind the Night Parade, I suppose.
ShizukaShe said that the nearest hall was close by. Let us set forth.
MusashiLooks like Avici hell dumped a pile of rubbish here. Let's get cleaning.
MusashiWhat's going on here...? Some kind of festival?
ShizukaAs expected, the Genma are not praying to anything.
MusashiHaving a party? Hope you don't mind if I join in.
MusashiAll I see lined up here...is a bunch of corpses.
MusashiOf course, it's a Genma. Saw that one coming.
MusashiI think this is where we're meant to be...
ShizukaOh!
TakamuraGood to see you back.
OkuniHey.
ShizukaYou have dispatched all of the Genma. Is their victim unharmed?
ManI'll be killed! Someone, help!
WomanNo! Don't kill me!
MerchantAh, monsters! Noooo!
ManI don't want to die!
ManGet 'em, Samurai! Give 'em hell!
ManStay back! Stay away!
WomanNo! Help me! Somebody!
ManLet go! Stay back!
TakamuraLet's get started.
