The Raid on Mount Oe: The Sacred Helm酒呑童子討伐伝・神々の兜

As Yorimitsu's band of warriors made their way to confront Shuten Doji, the monster terrorizing Kyoto, they encountered three old men.

These men were avatars of the gods, and in addition to a jug of sacred sake, they bestowed upon the warriors a helm imbued with their divine protection.

With these rare treasures safely stowed, the men headed to the slopes of Mount Oe to face their destiny.

The Curious Case

"We have bestowed the sake of the gods upon them, but are we sure that will suffice?"

"Hm, I fear that even allowing for the effects of the sake, the mortals remain at a severe disadvantage in battle."

"If that is the case, what else can we gift them?"

"Shuten Doji's fearsome fangs can pierce even the most robust armor. Anyone facing him will require protection from this threat."

"Very well. I propose that we gift them this sacred helm, imbued with our divine protection."

Story 1

In addition to the sake we have gifted you, we wish you to take this helmet. We believe it will aid you in your quest to defeat Shuten Doji.

Story 2

It is invested with the power of the gods, and it will offer you protection from the monster's fearsome attacks.

Story 3

It should be able to withstand even Shuten Doji's fangs. Just be aware that it is one of a kind, so we cannot equip all of your men with equivalent armor. Think carefully about who should wear it.
