A man tells Musashi that Genma are ransacking his workshop. Spotting his sword and judging him to be a capable fighter, he entreats Musashi to save his business from ruin.

It turns out the man was hoping that Musashi would be killed so he could make off with his sword. His plot thus exposed, he asks for a quick death, but Musashi scoffs at the idea of using his beloved blade on a petty thief.
